There’s a virtual truckload of research extolling the numerous health benefits of vitamin C, both for the eyes and for the body.

Vitamin C is a powerful anti-oxidant that has been proven to reduce the chances of getting cataracts, Macular Degeneration, glaucoma and other eye problems.

For example, the antioxidant qualities of vitamin C help prevent the crystallization and accumulation of foreign molecules that result in the blurred vision of cataracts.

Some eye doctors think that Vitamin C can also help with nearsightedness because it is a necessary element in maintaining the structural integrity of the eyeball. (Vitamin C deficiency may contribute to the nearsighted elongation of the eyeball and the resulting weakening of the eyes’ layers.)

Wow!

In short, our eyes deteriorate without adequate supplies of vitamin C.

An indication of the importance of vitamin C to eyesight is the fact that the concentration of vitamin C in the vitreous humor (the clear liquid in the eyeball) is about 25 times the level in our blood, and its concentration in the retina is about 100 times the level in our blood.

In fact, the eyes have the highest concentration of vitamin C of nearly any other part of our bodies.

It Can’t Do It Alone

For maximum absorption by the body, vitamin C should be taken as part of complete formula.

The synergistic effect of vitamins and minerals working together increases the impact of each.

For instance, vitamin E is recycled by vitamin C, so you can reduce the amount of vitamin E needed when you take it with C.

That’s just one example, but it’s why I firmly recommend that you look for the most complete combination of nutrients – balanced in the right way – in your vision formula.

All the best in sight,

Poor eyesight is a common problem that effect people in all areas of their lives, in severe cases it can dramatically decrease their quality of life so it is no wonder that people are constantly looking for ways to rebuild their vision. Eye disorders such as myopia and hyperopia (nearsightedness and farsightedness) can require the use of contact lenses or glasses but these simply aid the eyesight. They do not rebuild vision and can in fact cause the eyes to become entirely dependant on their use leading to the eyesight becoming weaker. There are various natural vision exercises that are said to improve vision such as wearing an eye patch to straighten eyes that are misaligned.

When you work or study, you spend hours with your eyes pulled into one position. Just imagine yourself taking your fist and clenching it, and keeping it clenched for hours and hours at a time.

Maybe even doing that all day/ or all evening long. Then, try and open that clenched fist. It doesn’t work that easy, you fingers will be stiff and non responsive. The same happens with your eyes. After hours of near focus, they will not be able to relax and work properly at distant focusing. And then after months, weeks of this kind of near focusing you will receive a new prescription change. And then when you hit your forties, your muscles will likely break down more and you will need bifocals.

For your own vision care, you really need to read this whole article. In today’s environment, near point stress is a huge problem, that can be managed!

Read on to try another exercise from The Program for Better Vision:

Think Your Eye Muscles Are Too Weak? Think Again.

There are five commonly held beliefs that lead people to think their eyesight can’t be improved. That’s why I call them myths – they’re not truthful, and they don’t accurately represent what’s going on in your eyes.

Right at the top of the list of the 5 Vision Myths is the one that says that poor vision is caused by weak eye muscles. Somehow, this myth goes, eye muscles get weak and the weaker they get, the stronger your glasses – and the worse your vision.

In fact, the opposite is actually true: Whether you have perfect vision or lousy sight, your eye muscles are plenty strong enough for you to see clearly.

As noted eye doctor, Dr Richard Kavner says in his groundbreaking book, Total Vision, “we know that each eye muscle has at least 50 to 100 times the strength it needs.”

http://www.experts-at.com/Better-Vision/For-You.htm

There are six muscles that surround and move your eyes. They move your eyes up, down, to the right and to the left. They also turn your eyes in and out.

Tense, Stiff & Rigid

Tension in these muscles causes eye movements to become more rigid and less flexible, preventing them from moving in a natural, fluid manner. Instead, their movements become stiff, tense and restricted.

Over time, this tension, rigidity and inflexibility adds up and limiting visual patterns and habits get established, effecting how clearly you can see.

But the primary source of the problem is the underlying patterns and habits – how the eye muscles are used over time.

The eyes – just like any other part of your body – can be retrained. As this retraining occurs, the eye muscles become more flexible, gain better tone and work together in a more fluid, coordinated way.

Want to experience some of the tension that’s in your eye muscles – and start to let it go?

Try This Now

Here’s an ancient yoga exercise that you’ll also find in The Program for Better Vision:

1. Close your eyes, relax your eyelids, forehead and face. Keep your neck and head still. Breathe easily and regularly.

2. Imagine you’re facing a clock, with your nose at its center. As you stretch your eyes all the way up, you can just barely see the number 12 at the top of this imaginary clock. (Remember, your eyes are closed.)

3. Starting at the number 12, rotate your eyes clockwise in a circular motion, around the clock. Stretch your eyes as you rotate them, but don’t strain or force the movements.

4. Repeat for 10-20 clockwise circles.

5. Change direction and make 10-20 circles in a counter-clockwise direction.

Most people carry at least some tension and rigidity in these muscles. Here’s how you can tell:

1. Your eyes unconsciously jump out of your control.

2. Sections of the rotation where the movements feel stiffer, more tense or stuck.

3. Holding your breath is a sign of tension. Remember to breathe!

Where in the movements did your muscles tense up? When did they jump out of control? What parts of the movements were not smooth?

With practice, you’ll be able to make all parts of the circular movement smooth and easy.

Eye Stretches is an ancient yoga exercise, so you may have heard of it already. By itself, it won’t give you perfect vision, but it definitely has its place in a total system of vision improvement.

That’s why it’s one of 24 different exercises, techniques and processes that you’ll find in The Program for Better Vision:

In addition to the basic Eye Stretches, in The Program for Better Vision you’ll also learn powerful variations and ways to use it to attack specific problems, like nearsightedness and astigmatism.

The Program for Better Vision: A powerfully effective combination of eye exercises, muscle control techniques, brain/eye coordination and complete body, mind and eye relaxation

The Program For Better Vision

Q: What Is Astigmatism And Can It Be Changed?

A: Astigmatism is a condition in which your vision at all distances may be blurred or distorted, occurring when there is an irregularity or distortion in the shape of the front surface (cornea) of the eye or of the lens.

Light entering the eye is focused at multiple points on the retina, which may result in double images or a “ghosting” effect.

Have you ever looked through a window pane in an older house? The glass is wavy, but if you look through it at one angle everything on the other side is clear, yet if you look through it at another angle, everything is blurry.

That’s what astigmatism is – it’s not the distance from your eyes, it’s the angle (or direction) of the light that causes the blurriness.

A person can have astigmatism whether or not they have other vision issues, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness.

Astigmatism can greatly interfere with clear seeing. Besides blurring your vision, it can cause double images, distorted vision, headaches, eye strain, neck and shoulder tension, tiredness and eye fatigue.

http://www.experts-at.com/Better-Vision/For-You.htm

According to ordinary eye doctors, you can’t change astigmatism.

That’s not my experience – I’ve seen my students change their astigmatism over and over again. The astigmatism reduces in degree or disappears altogether.

In other words, astigmatism is just like other vision issues. You can tackle your astigmatism with the right combination of techniques, relaxation, training and visualization.

So many people have asked me for help with astigmatism that last year I created a specialized program, Easily Erase Astigmatism.

http://www.experts-at.com/Better-Vision/For-You.htm

Do a search on astigmatism, and see the different helpful information that will come up!

Those of us who are near- or far-sighted have a rigid focusing system so that the muscles that control our ability to focus are too stiff and inflexible to focus clearly.

http://www.experts-at.com/Better-Vision/For-You.htm

TRY THIS NOW: (without glasses or contacts)

Hold a finger up near your face and focus on it, and then quickly look at something beyond it in the distance. Then look back at your hand.

http://www.experts-at.com/Better-Vision/For-You.htm

If you’ve got clear vision, here’s what you should see:

Your hand will be clearer than the distant item when you are focusing on your hand. When you’re focused on the distant item, it will be clearer than your hand.

However, if you’re nearsighted, your hand will be clearer, even when you’re looking at the distant item.

And if you’re farsighted, the distant item will be clearer, even when you’re looking at your hand.

In other words, if you’ve got a vision problem, your eyes can’t change focus, swiftly, easily and sharply, from far to near.

http://www.experts-at.com/Better-Vision/For-You.htm

Many people think there’s nothing that can be done about that, perhaps even believing that it’s because the eye is the wrong shape (that’s one of the 5 Vision Myths that I tear apart in The Program for Better Vision).

But you can train the muscles in your eyes to focus better at different distances, and here’s why:
FATTER OR FLATTER:
CAN YOUR LENS MAKE THE CHANGE?
The lens in the eye changes its shape to bring objects into focus. The lens needs to be flatter to see objects that are further away more clearly. And it needs to become fatter to focus on something closer.

We are always changing what we are looking at, so the lens is continually making fine adjustments in its shape.

Normally, the lens changes its focus – and thus its shape – more than 100,000 times each and every day.

This changing of the eye’s focusing power is called Accommodation. (It’s one of the 6 Critical Visual Skills you’ll develop when you use The Program for Better Vision.)

But if you’ve got a vision problem, these muscles around the lens become stuck and stiff. Some of them can’t relax when they need to, while others can’t stretch when they need to.

If you’re nearsighted, they’re “stuck” for near vision and the lens has too much power. On the other hand, if you’re farsighted, these muscles are “stuck” for distance vision; the lens has too little focusing power.

Like any other group of muscle in the body, the muscles around the lens can be exercised. When you exercise them correctly, they can regain flexibility and tone, and they’ll work the way that they’re supposed to.

Here’s one exercise from The Program for Better Vision that re-trains accommodation: Near-To-Far Shifting.

TRY THIS NOW: (without glasses or contacts)
1. Look at your finger, about 4-6 inches in front of your eyes.
2. Shift your focus to a distant target, at least 10 feet away.
3. Shift your focus back and forth from your finger to the distant target 10 – 20 times.
4. Repeat as many times during the day as you remember. The more the better!

Make sure that your focus rests for a brief moment before you shift your vision again.

With practice, you’ll be able to train the muscles around the lens to become more flexible and to change focus more easily and quickly. The result: You’ll see better and better through an increasing range of distances.

Near-To-Far Shifting is one of 24 different exercises, techniques and processes that you’ll find in The Program for Better Vision, a powerfully effective combination of eye exercises, muscle control techniques, brain/eye coordination and complete body, mind and eye relaxation.

Results from a new clinical trial suggest that lutein and vitamin A supplements might help preserve mid-peripheral vision in RP.

The researchers conclude that their data supports the use of 12 mg/d of lutein to slow visual field loss among nonsmoking adults with retinitis pigmentosa taking vitamin A.

Based on the randomized comparison, the authors estimate that the benefit in preserving mid-peripheral field sensitivity would be an additional 3 years. Based on macular pigment optical density (MPOD) observational results, they estimate that the benefit would be 10 additional years.

Berson EL, et al. Clinical trial of lutein in patients with retinitis pigmentosa receiving vitamin A. Arch Ophthalmol 128:403-11, 2010.

Editor’s Note: Nutrients that have been found to help prevent or slow down vision loss for those with Retinitis Pigmentosa include lutein, vitamins A and E, Omega-3 Fatty Acids, and alpha lipoic acid. Other important nutrients include bilberry, gingko biloba and general antioxants found in fruits and vegetables..

The Read Without Glasses Method. Having difficulty with up-close work or reading a menu in a restaurant? Using reading glasses already, or thinking about getting them?

Our latest unique exercise system, originated by noted eye doctor, Dr. Ray Gottlieb, is a safe, natural and effective approach to counter “middle-age sight,” known medically as presbyopia. Available on DVD or Video, The Read Without Glasses Method will show you how to sharpen your near vision without reading glasses, bifocals or the risk of surgery.

In as little as 6 minutes a day, you can:
Keep yourself from needing reading glasses;
See better up close without reading glasses;
See better in dim light;
Reduce the strength of your current prescription;
Avoid, eliminate or reduce the need for bifocals.

The Read Without Glasses Method builds eye muscle strength and also helps develop tone, flexibility and balance in the eyes and visual system. Find out more at
http://www.experts-at.com/Better-Vision/read-without-glasses-method.htm

Q & A: What is an Under-Corrected Prescription and How Would I Benefit from Using One?

An under-corrected prescription encourages your visual system to work with the glasses or contacts – and not just passively depend on them – in order to see.

With an under-corrected prescription for distance vision, you probably won’t be able to read the very bottom line on the eye chart. But this under-corrected prescription will be strong enough for you to drive safely and legally and to see comfortably in almost every situation. If you use reading glasses, with an under-corrected prescription you might need to hold the reading material a little farther away than normal from your eyes in order to read it.

If you are also doing eye exercises, then, as your vision improves, what started as an under-corrected prescription will eventually become too strong, and you’ll need a weaker prescription still. Instead of your prescription getting stronger and stronger over time, starting with an under-corrected prescription can make your glasses or contacts get weaker and weaker.
